Hypermiling is the art and science of pushing one’s vehicle to exceed their EPA fuel economy rating. Hypermilers can often reach hybrid like mileages using conventional gasoline engines. On hybrid engines, they achieve astounding figures with some going beyond 100 MPG (42.51 Km/L).
This “fad” was started by Wayne Gerdes and covers changing the way you drive to changing the aerodynamics of your ride.
The Hypermiling Zone was created as a personal log into my first few steps into hypermiling and research into greater fuel economy. I will be posting weekly on techniques and mods that can and will help you achieve your best mpg. Perhaps even going into reviews of fuels and cars in relation to their fuel economy. So be sure to hit back every week for something new you can pick up that will help you stretch your fuel spending money.
I do not claim to be an expert, but I hope to help those who, like me are going through their baby steps into this exciting new field in motoring.
